Space

Never mind how I got here;
I'm here, that's enough.

Dear Joiner,
take your bell cow and your suit case and your squee face
and go back.

This is my Carnival Library--
Shhhh, quiet in the funhouse.

"Aintcha lonely?"
No.
At least, not for you.

I'm the zero-grav cartwheel solo warp pilot.
Rogue star
shining.
__________

A 55 for my BFF.

  1. Dare I say *stellar*??? *runs* This is so you Shay, so scrappy and spot on with not one muscle-flex wasted on the reader. The opening phrase is right to the jaw, then we get the flurry and some rope-a-dope in the funhouse/lonely-hearts column, finishing with a roundhouse punch to l'estomac with the cartwheeling close. I love ALL the words! So intriguing! ;_)

  2. For some reason I keep on hearing a whip. Where's that whip coming from? It's shiny, too... and the crack of it sounds like, "No."

  3. "Rogue star shining"...yes, you are that, and more. I SO feel the same way. Today I chose a solo beach walk over a seniors social. I am a happy hermit and am never lonely for humans, only for dogs. I love this poem so much I may print it out and hang it on my wall. Or my front door. LOL.

  5. Whilst there is no doubt that the rogue star shines here I am completely bowled over by the thought of a carnival library. It has created a black hole in my mind.

  6. So as to not be lambasted.

"I'm the zero-grav cartwheel solo warp pilot." That's the only way to be in a carnival library. Solo is good. I like solo most everything, except those damn cups.

  7. Shay--

    "Squee face" tickles me.

In 55 words you can so much more than other people say in 1,000...
